StormCloud Long Coated German Shepherds is located in the foothills of Kearsarge Mountain in the Sunapee Region of New Hampshire.

We offer Long Coated German Shepherd puppies for sale several times per year.

We have been raising both long coat (also known as long hair) and stock coat German Shepherd Dogs since 1993. Presently, we are breeding large mahogany red with black long coated German Shepherds which have proven to produce stunning puppies that are healthy, beautiful and have a sound and calm temperament.

The majority of the puppies bred at Alkarah are sold as pets, but over the years numerous Alkarah dogs have achieved advanced obedience titles. They have also become search and rescue dogs, forensic recovery dogs, therapy dogs, and canine good citizens, while others have been involved in agility, herding, tracking, schutzhund, and a number are working in police K-9 units.

All the dogs at Alkarah that are kept for breeding or showing are x-rayed at six to eight months of age for their preliminary OFA evaluation, and then x-rayed again for permanent OFA certification when they are old enough. The puppies that are not show quality are sold only to good loving qualified pet homes. We are fortunate to have developed a reputation over the years for selectively breeding quality animals and enjoy a clientele who will wait for one of our puppies rather than go elsewhere. As an AKC licensed judge of German Shepherd Dogs, Karin attempts to select dogs that exhibit the same characteristics that we breed for - structurally correct German Shepherd Dogs with sound outstanding temperaments.

That is why we choose imported stud dogs and breeding female dogs from the top Czech and East German DDR working bloodlines in the world. We breed to bring out that combination of natural courage and strength with natural German Shepherd working traits in each litter. Our German Shepherds are excellent stereotypes, in both constitution (structure) and pigmentation. Our Superb Working Line Pedigrees represent the Finest Working Bloodlines from the Czech Republic, Slovakia & DDR.

All of the dogs in our breeding program have "dobry" (good) body conformation, strong bones, good pigmentation and strong health. They are also significant for their high food drive, high working drives and early working maturity. All puppies are raised in the house so they go home to you well socialized and used to household noises. Once they get their first shots they will be exposed to things outside of the house as well. We want to give them the best start possible in preparing for their future family lives. Crate training can be added on your puppy for an extra expense. For upcoming litters, early reservations are recommended!

Originally from Michigan, I was raised around German Shepherds. I admire their loyalty, bravery and protective nature, gentleness with children, and always, the ability to be all of this and complete goof balls that make you laugh every day, so in tune with their owners they are almost human.

I breed only European line German shepherds from both show lines and working lines. My mission is to breed for temperament, working ability, and structural soundness.

I give my puppies the best start I can by raising them in the house, where they are constantly looked after and handled in my home office.

My goal: to produce the perfect German Shepherd Dog.

We raise purebred German Shepherd Dogs for family companions and all-purpose working dogs.  Because we have a large family and a farm where we've raised many animals over the years it has always been of the utmost importance to us that our dogs be safe and trustworthy with children and also to possess respect, common sense and self-control with our other animals. We appreciate our dogs being helpful working farm dogs and we breed accordingly to retain and enhance these traits.  We place the majority of our puppies in homes where they quickly become part of the family. Some of our pups have gone to working homes for therapy, service dogs, SAR, and law enforcement working K9s, farm, and competitive sports like conformation, Schutzhund, agility, and obedience.
