WindRidge German Shepherds Oklahoma

Our mission is to produce the best possible puppies that represent the GSD Standard and are capable of fulfilling their roles as companion, guardian, therapy dog, service dog, and canine good citizen. We don't breed specifically for show and discourage participation in dog sports that include bitework and/or personal protection training. Therefore, our puppies are sold on limited registration (limited Registration means that the dog is registered but no litters produced by that dog are eligible for registration). We maintain contact with breeders of both AKC conformation and Schutzhund German Shepherds nationwide, so if you are looking for a show puppy, we may be able to assist you although we do NOT guarantee conformation, temperament, or health of puppies from other breeders.

As Oklahomans, we have a special place in our hearts for the German Shepherds who served us so tirelessly as SAR dogs after the Murrah bombing and the F5 tornado. Together with our close friend and Heart to Heart Rescue partner, Pamela Bollinger, our efforts to support the GSD breed were honored in 1999 by Governor Frank Keating when he officially proclaimed September 19-26 as the Week of The German Shepherd Dog.

We have been in business of German Shepherd breeding since 1999 beginning in California. We moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2006 continuing our strive for breeding the best of litters.Since moving to New Mexico, we have increased our dogs and built more dog runs to house them.

Once a litter is whelped, great care is taken for the mother and each of the pups. At 4 weeks they are all wormed and wormed again at 10 days later. At 6 weeks of age, the pups are all given their first shots. They are then sold at 8 weeks of age to very loving homes.

For the next one year to 18 months of the puppy's life, I will call you and check on the progress of the puppy to make sure that all is well and the puppy is healthy.
