Drache Feld has been awarded seven VA’s in the last five years! Our record is proven, and our dogs are an example of what experience, professionalism, and hard work have been dedicated to the breed. In 2015, we trained, handled and titled six different dogs to complete a total of 11 titles, included High in Trial. Also to mention, Drache Feld was awarded Young dog Sieger and Vice Young dog Siegerin at the National GSDCA Sieger Show.

Our dogs are family, we handle and care for them daily. Vigorous exercise and training programs are selected for each dog to maintain conditioning and a healthy mind. We evaluate all of our puppies prior to placing them in homes to ensure the best fit for them for the extent of their life. Our breeding program is selected carefully to better the breed, with the intent also to further our program for years to come. We reserve first pick of all litters, and also reserve the right to refuse the sale of any puppy or dog should we deem necessary. Our dogs deserve happy homes, as much as our customers deserve quality healthy dogs.

Our love for German Shepherds began long ago when we had them as family pets. Their gracefulness, loyalty, and companionship is like no other. The breed is strong, yet faithful - and whether for show or for work, German Shepherds are loving.

One of the hardest parts about starting a breeding business was deciding on a name. Our dogs come from a long line of German champion GSDs, and we wanted a name worthy of their history. After much thought and consideration, it came down to how we felt our love for the breed, and the breed itself could best be described - incomparable, having no equal. In honor of the German heritage we chose the German word for unrivaled - Konkurrenzlos.

Deutsche Schäferhunde – von den Wannaer Höhen - Germany

Seit 1984 wird im Zwinger “von den Wannaer Höhen” gezüchtet. In dieser Zeit haben wir versucht gesunde, leistungsfähige und anatomisch ansprechende Gebrauchshunde zu züchten.

Dass man es erwähnen muss, gesunde Hunde zu züchten, ist vom Grundsatz her schon sehr schlimm! Die Realität zeigt jedoch, dass es ein immer größer werdendes Problem ist, einen gesunden, vitalen und langlebigen Gebrauchshund zu züchten.

In Zukunft wird die Gesundheit ein immer mehr zu berücksichtigender Faktor sein. Wir glauben jedoch, dass wir auf dem richtigen Weg sind, da mehrere in unserem Zwinger gezüchtete Hunde schon über Jahre hinweg auf höchster Ebene im Leistungssport geführt wurden und somit auch extremen körperlichen Belastungen gewachsen sind.

Unsere Zuchterfolge!

Bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt wurden mehr als 20 “Wannaer Höhen” – Hunde auf nahezu 100 Landesausscheidungsprüfungen geführt (9 dieser Hunde waren bereits Landessieger oder Sieger der FCI-Bundesqualifikation).

Auf ca. 20 Bundessiegerprüfungen wurden Hunde aus unserem Zwinger geführt. Einige Hunde wurden auf Internationalen Diensthundeführermeisterschaften erfolgreich vorgeführt. Auch im Bereich der Bundeszollverwaltung konnten sich unsere Hunde gut behaupten und waren vielfach Sieger in den jeweiligen Oberfinanzdirektionen.

Auf den großen Schauveranstaltungen sind Hunde aus unserem Zwinger nicht zu finden, da in den letzten Jahren m. E. das Erscheinungsbild des Deutschen Schäferhundes stark von dem Körperbau eines leistungsfähigen Gebrauchshundes abweicht, und auch der Gründer des SV bei der Festlegung des Rassestandards sich sicherlich ein anderes Erscheinungsbild vorstellte.

Wir werden jedoch auch weiterhin versuchen, den gesunden, nervenstarken, triebvollen Gebrauchshund zu erhalten und evtl. zu verbessern, damit auch noch nachfolgende Generationen Freude an der Zucht und Ausbildung dieser wunderbaren Rasse haben.

Here at vom Haus am Lerchenweg we have a specific breeding program that enables us to produce a German Shepherd that is not only striking in beauty, bust also has intelligence and strength at heart.  We follow very closely with the goals of the founder of the German Shepherd, Max von Stephanitz, had in mind when he purchased the first German Shepherd in 1899 and started the SV.  Herr Stephanitz taught us that the best German Shepherd was the one bred to be the "Golden Middle", this was the dog with beauty intelligence the heart to protect his herd, family.  Herr Stephanitz was quoted once for saying:

"The breeder on a small scale, one who works with one or two bitches, is the most suitable breeder for working dogs because he can care for his breeding animals and their progeny... and can produce sound strong animals that can be trained"

We have been in business of German Shepherd breeding since 1999 beginning in California. We moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico in 2006 continuing our strive for breeding the best of litters.Since moving to New Mexico, we have increased our dogs and built more dog runs to house them.

Once a litter is whelped, great care is taken for the mother and each of the pups. At 4 weeks they are all wormed and wormed again at 10 days later. At 6 weeks of age, the pups are all given their first shots. They are then sold at 8 weeks of age to very loving homes.

For the next one year to 18 months of the puppy's life, I will call you and check on the progress of the puppy to make sure that all is well and the puppy is healthy.

Puppies receive their first vaccinations and a thorough physical examination from our veterinarian at six weeks of age. They are socialized by exposure to diverse people (especially children), dogs and environments &  at 7 weeks are tested with the Volhard aptitude test to assist in placement. Our Dogs and puppies will only go to homes where they can be properly cared for and after they have reached a minimum of 7 weeks of age.

At Frost Kennels our dogs are our pets and NEVER stuck in kennels or cages all day long. All Frost Kennels’ dogs are family members and fully socialized from the time they are small puppies. We allow our dogs to roam freely at our four locations! Our dogs are only separated when in heat or hurt to insure safety.

Our dogs and puppies live in our home, not in kennels and are cherished family members. We will only import and breed dog's that follow the strict regulations of the SV in Germany. All of our breeding stock must have achieved VA or V ratings in the show/conformation ring and have a minimum of a BH, AD, and Schutzhund SchH, and or IPO Working Titles. Both the sire and dam must be breed surveyed with a rating of Kkl 1, the highest recommendation for breeding and have had their hips and elbows xrayed using the German "a" Zuerkannt, and/or the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (O.F.A.) and PennHip scheme to assure that we have taken every precaution towards breeding dogs free of hip dysplasia. All of our puppies are guaranteed to have sound health and temperaments and are registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC).

We take pride in breeding top quality German Shepherd puppies to the standard that are healthy in both mind and body and free of genetic disease. Show homes, working homes, and pet companion homes are all equally important to us. Our involvement with the German Shepherd Dog is a privilege and a love.
