Hello, my name is Linda. I own a training and breeding buisness at (Miles River Training Kennel) located on the North Shore in beautiful Ipswich, Massachusetts. I have been training dogs in New England for over 25 years, and I specialize in obedience and behavioral training for all breeds of dogs. I started breeding the East German Shepherds in 1990. Throughout the 1990's I have been working to preserve the original German Shepherd Dog, the DDR. In 1998, my good friend Cathy, of Rowley, Ma. decided to get involved with my breeding program. She too is an East German Shepherd enthusiast with 5 dogs of her own, and has a separate kennel, NordOsten Kennel, located in Rowley. Together we breed for the best possible qualities such as temperament, health and structure. We provide dogs to families as well as to the Law Enforcement community. We feel the East German Shepherds are very versatile. They can be trained in many different fields such as obedience, herding, tracking, personal protection, agility, canine good citizen, therapy dog and more. They are very intelligent dogs who love personal companion work.

This is our passion! My husband and I always had GSDs growing up, so it was only natural for us to get, our first shepherds, Bandit and Shiloh when we got married. While training them, and having our kids, we decided to have our first litter. After being successful with that, and meeting some really cool people, we started our business and added Jetta and Jessie. Jetta, our solid white love bug and Bandit, our black and silver male, retired in May 2014. In June 2014 we purchased Jerry, our new black stud, and Jewels, our black/red female.  March 2016 and April 2016 we decided to keep 2 females from our litters, a white shepherd named Maci and a West German lined black and red named Sammie! Our newest member, UKC champion, Avah, joined our pack.

Our dogs are like our children to us. We feed a Raw, Meat-and-Bone diet, based on the PREY Model diet (to the dogs, not the children–LOL). Our dogs are never kept in kennels or runs or kept chained–like you often see. All of our GSDs are AKC registered and our white shepherds are dual registered with UKC. All puppies come with a health guarantee, AKC registration, current shot and worming records, a microchip New Owner Puppy Manual, and lifetime breeder support.

We feature solid-black,  blanket back and sable German Shepherds (though we offer most all colors and patterns as well as both short stock and long stock coat German Shepherds). Aesthetics aside, our prime objectives in breeding are; soundness, even-temperament, ability and intelligence. Our breeding stock is in top physical condition & pups come with a contractual health guarantee covering all major diseases, as well as hereditary hip and elbow dysplasia. We pride ourselves on helping select just the right pup or adult to suit a client's specific wants and needs.

Puppies receive their first vaccinations and a thorough physical examination from our veterinarian at six weeks of age. They are socialized by exposure to diverse people (especially children), dogs and environments &  at 7 weeks are tested with the Volhard aptitude test to assist in placement. Our Dogs and puppies will only go to homes where they can be properly cared for and after they have reached a minimum of 7 weeks of age.

We are a small kennel based out of Monroe, North Carolina. Our goal is to produce healthy, stable minded, solid structured family protectors and companions. That are strong, friendly, confident, obedient, have stable nerves and a passion to serve.

The puppies we produce are from European Working lines. They have DDR Czech structure with wide head, short muzzle, deep chested and have long straight backs.

Our adults are always alert and on guard, yet can still be taken into public places and can be handled by strangers without having any issues.

Our dogs are not kenneled. They have a 5 acre lot with access to a barn and large outdoor shelter. We also rotate the dogs from being in the pasture and running free around our home. These dogs have a over 10 acres to roam during the day and are cuddled up inside with us at night.

  All our puppies come with full registration unless otherwise stated. All our puppies  have been vaccinated in compliance with local standards IE: Parvo, Distemper, etc, and also wormed.

     Our working-line German Shepherd puppies exhibit  a natural willingness to please, confidence,strong drives and athletic ability, making them excellent candidates for Schutzhund, PSA (Protection Sports Association}, police work, SAR (search and rescue training), detection,agility, herding, competition obedience,
or any other working and sport endeavors. Special consideration is given to handlers who are experienced in competitive dog sports, civil work, herding  and SAR.
