Peakes Brook German Shepherds is a small kennel, breeding AKC German Shepherds exclusively, located in the Catskill Region of New York. We have one to two litters per year. Our dogs are OFA Certified to ensure quality hips. The health and hips of our AKC German Shepherd puppies is guaranteed in writing.

Our dogs have wonderful temperament, are very willing to please, and easily master obedience. Their lineage includes numerous AKC Champions, AKC obedience titled dogs, and Schutzhund dogs.

We strive to produce sound dogs that represent the best of the German Shepherd breed. I would classify the litters as high energy, stable, bright, and social. Our lines are working lines and they need an active home to be happy and pleasant companions. This means, at a minimum, structured obedience training and daily aerobic exercise sessions. Usually our clients are previous German Shepherd owners with an understanding of the breed and an ability to handle the physical demands of a large strong dog. Also, we prefer homes with large fenced yards. Usually, we are reluctant to place a puppy with infants or toddlers however, we will consider the placement if other factors override our concerns.

We have dogs on police departments, in search and rescue, schutzhund, agility, obedience and just plain companions

Sundown Kennels, located on the outskirts of Little Rock, Arkansas, is committed to offering a full range of boarding and training services. Our facilities were custom designed and built for the medium to large dog. The owner, Mike Yarnell, has had extensive experience training dogs for obedience, competition, and law enforcement services.

Mike's first German Shepherd Dog Cisco had problems that kept him from entering the working or show ring. Disappointed with the breeder who might have revealed the problems, Mike committed to opening Sundown Kennels and to begin a breeding program that would improve the GSD breed and educate owners. His breeding program was conceived with quality imported GSD lines. And now, more than 20 years later, Sundown Kennels has grown to include breeding, boarding and training services offered to families and law enforcement programs.
